English for Life in Canada – Part 1 is a foundational English language course designed for newcomers and learners who want to build practical communication skills for daily life in Canada.

This course focuses on essential listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills needed for everyday situations such as introductions, housing, work, healthcare, shopping, and community interactions.

Learners will develop confidence using English in real-life contexts while improving grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension. This course prepares students for further language development and progression to higher-level English courses.

By the end of Part 1, learners will be able to:

  • Communicate basic needs and personal information in English

  • Understand and use common vocabulary for daily life in Canada

  • Participate in simple conversations at work and in the community

  • Read and write short texts such as forms, messages, and emails

  • Demonstrate improved pronunciation and listening comprehension
